Everyone has got a hobby, something they really enjoy doing. For example mine is writing, and researching. On the other hand some people think that hobbies or hobbies are a way to “kill” time; something when there is nothing better to do. Whatever the case, having hobbies you enjoy are good. And even better, they might be very beneficial to your health and wellbeing.
According to several studies carried out in the United States and published by the WHO, having a hobby is not only good for mental health, but also for health in general.
This is because when a person is doing something that he likes or enjoys, his brain secretes more of the so-called “happiness hormones” (such as endorphin and serotonin) and less of those known as “stress hormones”. “-the cortisol is one of them (that contribute to weaken the immune system).
As is well known, it is the first defense front of your body against diseases. When it is not strong and functioning optimally, it leaves you vulnerable to all kinds of health problems, from a simple cold to cancer and heart disease.
However, beyond the benefits they bring to health. Hobbies such as gardening, reading, embroidery or cooking are a simple, fun and generally inexpensive way to enrich your life. People who live “from work to home and from home to work” discover a new source of pleasure that revitalizes them.
If you are thinking about reliving an interest from the past, or retaking that hobby that you left as your obligations accumulated. In any case, whether you have a hobby or a desiring to have a hobby, you will learn about 5 enjoybable hobbies and how they are beneficial to your health.

I already read a lot so I guess I am all got ont hat front. I love gardening! Such relaxing and soothing! SOmething else I love is biking!
I recently started traveling and already see an improvement in quality of life. I’ve even tried my hand at gardening now that I am a homeowner and was able to grow some zucchini and jalapenos. This list is great and I can attest to the fact that these activities are truly beneficial!
Woohoo, I'm glad to see reading is on the list. I do a lot of that. My Mom LOVES to garden, but unfortunately I have a black thumb.
I really should try gardening. It's the only thing in the list that I don't currrently do!
I love to garden in the warm weather. I find it so rewarding to see what you can grow. In the winter I like to crochet. I find it helps me calm my mind and gives me something to focus on.
Traveling and reading are my top 2 for sure. It is important to take time for yourself
I love to read novels. They relax me and take me to another world, a better one. I also enjoy traveling. We can't fly because my husband is afraid of flying and going with a bus makes my legs hurts, but when we get there, then is when the magic begins.
I have to agree with traveling! It's always therapeutic to me!
You forgot crocheting and knitting. They are super therapeutic and calming! I love reading too!
I can't agree more! All of them are very important for the physical and psychical health. 🙂
Of course that too.
I love reading and dancing. Dancing is great because exercise also increases those endorphins you are talking about. Reading is a much cheaper escape than traveling – but I'd like to do that, too.
Traveling is truely the best hobby ever. I don’t travel very often (4-6 times a year) but it’s a huge joy. Meeting interesting people old and new as well as reading is great for mental relaxation daily.
The best would be traveling! I like learning about other culture and appreciate beautiful places. The list is socializing, I am an introvert and I feel exhausted when I'm around people.
My hobby now is reading, it keeps me relaxed. I want to travel more tho.
I recently got back into reading. I love picking up a good book after a long day of work to relax.
I agree with you, especially about gardening. It's literally soothing yet very physical.
I love gardening and it can be done in any season 😀
Those are some great suggestions. Popular over here in the UK are also swimming and cycling, as they're nice and easy on the body.
I love these suggestions in your post. Dancing and traveling are my favorites in this list. Thanks for sharing.
Hands up for the travel! I'd love to do gardening but still working on it. I am afraid my plants won't grow as I don't have a green thumb.
Thank you! This was a cute articl. I actually have some of these hobbies but i lost my motivation to do them, this inspired me again!
I read at least three books a month, so its nice to know that its good for my health!
